  • Chartered Banker Institute

Throughout the programme you will have student membership of the Institute and have access to events and specialists from the Banking Industry. Gradautes will automatically become a Chartered Banker. This is the gold standard professional qualification in the world of banking.

  • Institute of Operational Risk

Through our accreditation from the Institute of Operational Risk, you have access to a widely recognised professional institute, best practices, knowledge sharing centre and events.

Entry requirements

  • UK Honours degree 2.2 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Students with an unrelated degree wishing to move in to this area will also be considered.

Should be the holder of a degree in financial services, insurance banking, acturial studies, business management, economics, finance, accounting, investment, maths or any financial services related subject.

Candidates degree's in other areas should demonstrate involvement in or familiarity with risk management practice i.e. employment in a relevant role. 

The overriding consideration will be the Programme Leader’s assessment of the student’s ability to undertake the Programme successfully.

Entry with Advanced Standing: A minimum of 50% of credits associated with the award must be achieved at Glasgow Caledonian University through the programme.

Exception: Holders of Chartered Banker will be given 120 compensated credits and will have to undertake the module in Research Methods and Dissertation to graduate with MSc.

English language requirements

IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) is required with no element below 5.5.
