Borrowing

Your student or staff ID card is also your library card. You can't borrow books without it. You can usually borrow items from the day after you register, at the library desk and during library opening hours.

London students can request an intersite loan for any titles available at the GCU Glasgow library which are not available as an e-book or in London. Ask in person at the GCU London library or email gculondonlibrary@gcu.ac.uk with the titles required. Do not use the place hold link on the library catalogue.

For books or journal articles not available at GCU, apply for an Inter-library loan or use SCONUL access.

Please remember - it's your responsibility to make sure you return or renew items on time.

Returning books by Freepost

In response to student requests, we are pleased to be able to offer a Freepost service which can be used in most cases to send your books back to us, free of charge.

Freepost is only for returning books borrowed from the London library. Separate arrangements exist for items borrowed from the Glasgow library.

If you would like to use this service to return London library books, please use the address as written below:

Remember to pack your parcel well to minimise the risk of damage and always ask for a (free) certificate of postage at your local Post Office when sending your parcel.

The service covers UK postage only. If you have left the country please contact gculondonlibrary@gcu.ac.uk and we will discuss the best way to proceed.
